Readers Response

Sabotaged Haddix 30 min. Pages 55-100
Have you ever been in a place where years ago something bad happened and you feel like it could happen again to you? Like the person who did all of the bad things could walk behind you and do it all again? Well I have and so did Jonah in this book.
On page 84 Jonah thinks "It feels like something bad happened here... and maybe it's not over" He's standing in the ruins of a tracer village- originally perfectly fine but, because of a time traveler, it was now ruins. He can't help but think of all of the negatives and the dangers that could happen at any moment- at any second.
I've felt that way, too.
Over the winter break I went to my grandparent's house in Indiana. We decided to walk across the frozen lake to a deserted summer camp building. All the doors were locked but there was a broken window so my sisters and cousins started climbing in. Me, being the cautious girl I am, decided to wait outside. Well after a while after my sisters giving more reasons to be scared outside then in, I crawled through the window. The inside of that place was destroyed, and it looked like it had happened recently. The whole time we were there all I could think was how messed up the people who did this were and what if they came back again. Eventually the feeling ended when we left that horrid place, but I might never forget that feeling that someone's watching you waiting for just the right moment to strike.
I felt that connection to the book in that way and all I want to do now is keep reading, Kayla
