As Katherine and Jonah are talking back and forth about what they want right now being soaking wet, cold, and hungry, Andrea says fiercely "Stop it! That just makes it worse, wishing for things you can't have. You know?" (page 114)
Whether you're talking about being dry like Jonah or wishing your parents were still alive like Andrea it still is true.
Over winter break (wow it seems like all of my connections are about winter break ;p) my grandma gave my cousins and I this "great" idea to go hiking in the woods behind her house. So we took off for a short hour long trip to look around a bit. i knew we were short on time so after half an hour i suggested we start to head back. they wouldn't listen though and kept on walking about 10 minutes later i start to hear thunder and soon everyone else hears it too. so we turn around and start running back up the path. but there were so many forks on the trail that we ended up taking a wrong turn somewhere. all i could think was "if only we had a cell phone" or "if only they would have listened to me earlier" or "if only grandma didn't suggest we go hiking" and a few other things like that. but now that i think about it, the more things i wish could be changed the less i focused on how to get out. we eventually found a break in the trees and came out to a corn field had to walk a mile in the thick mud trying to make sure my little cousin was okay. we came to a road that looked familiar to my cousins and had to walk 10 minutes up the road to get to my grandparents house.
I'm going to be late for soccer practice thanks for reading, Kayla
